Senecio herreianus, commonly known as string of tears or string of watermelons, is a trailing succulent with small, tear-shaped leaves that are green with silver stripes. The plant is native to Namibia and South Africa and is a popular choice for hanging baskets or as a trailing plant on a shelf. Senecio herreianus prefers bright, indirect light and well-draining soil, and should be allowed to dry out between watering to prevent root rot. This low-maintenance plant is relatively easy to care for and can be propagated easily from stem cuttings.
