Starfish Cactus | Stapelia

Starfish cactus (Stapelia) gets its name from the star-shaped flower it produces.  Its flower is also the reason most plant collectors incorporate it into their collection.  

Native to South Africa, stapelia enjoys plenty of light.  While it prefers consistent moisture it can tolerate dry soil. but cannot tolerate sitting in water.
